RC paper is great for people who don't want to spend a lot of time and money on getting great prints. The glossy variety produces fantastic, rich blacks that can't quite be achieved on the pearl. The 100 pack is great because trust me, it's really not that hard to use 100 sheets of photo paper over the course of ten hours in the darkroom. Don't listen to your friends who tell you the 120VAC outlet works just fine. It's not true. I had other Japanese domestic electronics which used on the 120VAC outlet. Yes, they worked for some time (like a year) and then died.
