I purchased this knife while working as a contractor in the home improvement business per the suggestion of a few people doing the same. Had previously bought a no-name competitor's RAM upgrade, but my Dell machine refused to deal with the quirky upgrade. It was RMA'd quickly. Next, I purchased the Kingston 512 pair--which was detected quickly, no problem, in XP Home OS. The fit for the RAM was a wee bit snug, but the motherboard just flexed a bit to accommodate the new memory. Very stable performance, even after years (!) of usage.
