Since I wrote my original review, my 2nd Jumpdrive Lightning (a 2GB model) has developed a case of the slows, not always, but always when it writes off of my newest, most powerful PC. The Lexar tech support guy's only suggestion was that I not use the Media Center edition of Win XP. It's a weird problem. The new Jumprdrive originally was equally fast (very fast) on all my PCs. But I'm not about to change my computer's OS. Anyway, I can no longer give Lexar Jumpdrives a very high recommendation. My original review follows: ...more

I was worried about the other reviews on this product that stated that is was made of cheap plastic. It is, but so is every other flash dive I have ever had and none of them have died on me. If your tough on equipment you will have problems with any flash drive. The Lexar SecureII software that comes with it works very well on Both MAC and PC. 8-VSB - Acronym for the transmission method used for over-the-air DTV broadcasting in Canada and the USA. Eight discreet amplitude level, "vestigial side-band" broadcast transmission technology. VSB is an analog modulation technique used to reduce the amount of spectrum needed to transmit information through cable TV, or terrestrial broadcasting.
Anti-Shock Suspension - A system that will prevent the disc in a portable CD player from skipping while it's carried or used in a car.
Auto Flash - A small photoelectric sensor on your camera measures the amount of ambient light and turns the flash on automatically when needed.
FM - Frequency Modulation. "Line of sight" radio transmission less susceptible to atmospheric and electrical interference. Cellular telephones operate using frequency modulation.
MTS - (Multi-channel Television Sound) - This refers to an analog NTSC TV equipped with stereo and SAP (separate audio program) features.
PDA - Personal digital assistant. Refers to a wide variety of handheld and palm-size PCs, electronic organizers, Smartphones, and pagers.
Set-top box (STB) - A box, similar to the familiar cable box, that is capable of receiving, decoding and sending to the associated television the picture and sound of the selected DTV broadcast. The use of an STB would allow the use of conventional televisions to receive DTB programs, but at reduced levels of resolution and with imperfections due to aspect ratio differences, leading to letterboxing or cropping of the sides of the picture.
